Past Years' Block of the Month
Each year a small group in our guild handles the Block of the Month program. They are in charge of presenting a new block for everyone to make and turn in the next month for a drawing, or to make for themselves. Sometimes the blocks follow a single creative theme. See below for several year's worth of past guild Block of the Months.
Be sure to see what guild members have done with blocks they have won in the past.
Sweet Treats 2009-2010
The Block of the Month for 2009-2010 was run by Dayna R. and the Net Gang small group. It features blocks with themes of desserts and candies of various kinds! The background fabric for each block will be cream in color. Each month there will be a special fabric that can go into the next month’s block for anyone who stops by the BOM table, until it runs out; first-come, first-served basis. The patterns will consist of various techniques: patchwork, appliqué, paper piecing, curved piecing, and chenille. Please try these techniques, especially if they are new to you!
Each time you turn in a completed block, you need to put your name into 2 drawings: first is the drawing for all the blocks turned in that night; and second, there will be a drawing at the June 2010 meeting for this finished quilt, shown here on the right!
