Show and Tell June 2004

We had a wonderful showing of quilts in June 2004. These are the quilts who's owners gave permission for us to show on the website. Every effort has been made to match up the show and tell slip with the picture. If I have gotten it wrong, please email me.

God Bless America by Donna Tomenga

Donna writes: "This is a gift for our sister and brother-in-law who are hosting a Tomenga reunion in New York this year on the 4th of July. I stitched "God Bless America" all around the flag."

From Rags to Riches by Sam L

Sam writes "Frisco Guild held their challenge last month (May 04). We were given a light beige fabric and required to use at least one log cabin block. I took a sampler pattern I drafted for a block exchange and some hot fabric. Then I used fabric markers to color the beige fabric. Finally I added some "glitter"."

Hearts All Over by Lena M

Lena writes "A commission for a Lady who wanted hearts for her bed."

Follow Me by Lena M

Lena writes "I am going to give this to the church in Sweden where I grew up."

The back was a panel print that Lena found that was perfect for the theme of the quilt.

Happy Birthday ... a year late! by Lena M

Lena writes "For a friend who had his 40th birthday last year"

Half a century done by Lena M

Dakota, you are surrounded by love! by Susan B

Susan writes "This baby quilt was made for my first grandson who will be born Monday June 14th. My daughter, twenty two years ago received a Sunbonnet Sue quilt and she wanted one for her son. The four corners have special blocks: One for the mommy, grandmother, G.G. (great-grandmother) and gramps (great-grandfather) who he will be living with."

Baby Peter's Quilt by Elise S

Elise writes "I made this Trip around the World as a baby gift for a college roommate. She and her husband both love to travel and I made it with fabrics from around the world."

Nikki's Handbagz by Renee Baron

Renee writes "This quilt is for my 3 year old granddaughter, Nikki, who loves to play "dress-up". Originally her quilt was going to be a red ladybug quilt with orange and green in it. I took my daughter to the quilt shop to help choose the fabrics. My daughter spotted a picture of a handbag quilt and decided that was more fitting for this little lady, so hence this quilt was born to match her personality and the color of her room. When she saw this quilt laid out on her bed she said "Oh how pretty, that is SO beautiful!""
