Guild Challenge 2008

This challenge was developed to create a 25th Anniversary quilt for the Quilters Guild of Plano. It must contain the winning design for our 25th anniversary, as pictured here.




Quilters Guild of Plano 3rd Annual AQS Challenge - 2008

Theme: “Quilters Guild of Plano 25th Anniversary Quilt”

Rules

  1. Quilts can be made by any number of people but, each quilter can only be represented once at AQS. However, there are no restrictions on the number of quilts a member can participate in for the guild challenge. All participants must be in good standing with the guild to be entered in the challenge.
  2. The size of the quilt must be 35” – 40” in width and 40” – 50” in length.
  3. The quilt must be hand or machine quilted
  4. An identification label must appear on the bottom edge of the quilt back with

      5. a. Quilt name
      b. Names of all participants in quilt’s creation. If done by a small group, please list the name of the small group and all the participants.
      c. “25th Anniversary 2008 Guild Challenge”.

  5. Quilt should interpret the theme “25th Anniversary of the Quilters Guild of Plano” and may include any technique. Any quilt shop quality fabric is acceptable. The winning anniversary pin design must be on the front of the quilt. The pin design can be pieced or appliqued or applied in any manner that best shows the design of the pin.
  6. Each quilt must come with a 4" sleeve on the back of the quilt.
  7. All quilts are due at the August Guild meeting. Judging will be held at this meeting by the membership.
  8. The top 8 quilts that do not have duplicate quilters will go on to the AQS Show in Nashville, TN. The Quilters Guild of Plano will keep these winning quilts until after the AQS show.
  9. We will display all challenge quilts at the Quilt Plano 2007 show.
  10. The first place quilt will become the property of the Quilters Guild of Plano and will be displayed at every quilt show.
  11. The guild will cover all entry fees and shipping costs of winning quilts to the AQS show.
  12. All monetary prizes won at AQS will be awarded to the guild. All ribbons will be awarded to the quilts.
